Another day, another apology for being truthful.
When someone states the obvious, or simply gives an honest opinion based on fact, it has now become customary to apologize to Obama for his screw-ups.
Congressman Joe Barton told the truth about the shameful shakedown by Obama in the BP case. Virginia Right! covered this story.
It is no secret that Obama has absolutely no military experience. It is also well known that, like most Progressives, Obama loathes the military. Oh, he does not have a problem using them for his own gains, like most Democrats, but when they publicly let it be known the president is an imbecile when it comes to things military, Obama hits the ceiling.
But everyone knows that each and every word out of General McChrystal’s mouth is absolute truth, when it comes to Obama’s lack of leadership.
The problem is simply a matter of perspective. From Obama’s point of view, his own image is the top concern. For the General, winning the war and protecting the men and women he orders into battle are the highest priority.
So we have a narcissist in conflict with a true leader.
Unfortunately, the narcissist is also the Commander in Chief. And like the spoiled little rich child, cannot take criticism.
Obama agreed to dispatch an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan only after months of study that many in the military found frustrating. The White House’s troop commitment was coupled with a pledge to begin bringing them home in July 2011, in what counterinsurgency strategists advising McChrystal regarded as an arbitrary deadline.
Veterans know how these things work. This is not a new set of issues. These things have been brewing for a long time, and Obama has simply ignored the General. It has finally reached a point where McChrystal could no longer tolerate the deaths and losses we are seeing in Afghanistan (and Iraq). He was not getting anywhere using normal communications channels.
Obama just won’t listen to expert advice, believing himself far more qualified to make battlefield decisions than a career General.
This is General McKrystal’s way of resigning from a situation that is beyond his control. A president that has absolutely no idea what he is doing on any front directly conflicts with a man of integrity.
The General will be replaced by a know nothing career butt-kisser, no doubt.
And the troops will suffer even more. Pity.
